The ‘Keelendi’ Project was Lance’s own family home. Years were devoted to meticulously planning and designing this abode to ensure the vision that he and his wife Jan pictured would be executed perfectly. Nestled in Bellbird Heights, on a steep hillside, Lance stumbled upon a parcel of land long overlooked by others, dubbed by newspapers as “The block that nobody wanted.”
Yet, Lance possessed a unique vision, capable of seeing beyond the rugged bushland and daunting 7-meter slope. Instead, he envisioned a grand dwelling offering panoramic vistas of the majestic Mt. View Range and vineyards.
Undeterred by the initial challenges, Lance and his team embarked on a monumental task. Over 50 truckloads of earth were meticulously excavated, while 60 meters of towering, 3-meter-high retaining walls were erected along the perimeter boundaries. As the foundations were laid and the framework began to take shape, the once-dismissed plot transformed into a coveted gem, drawing admiration from all over.
With precision and passion, Lance crafted a masterpiece. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows and doors across the entire the upper level, seamlessly merging the indoor space with the breathtaking views. ‘Keelendi’ was more than a dwelling; it was a testament and a work of art.
